The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
The administrator of the Commission on Human Needs, or authorized assistant.
The calendar age of an individual 18 years of age or over.
The city Commission on Human Needs.
A mental or physical impairment that substantially limits at least one major life activity, a record of the impairment, or being regarded as having the impairment. The term “disability” does not include current illegal use or addiction to any drug or illegal or federally controlled substance and does not apply to an individual because of an individual’s sexual orientation or because that individual is a transvestite.
means any:
Structure or part of a structure that is occupied as, or designed or intended for occupancy as, a residence by one or more families; or
Vacant land that is offered for sale or lease for the construction or location of a structure or part of a structure described in subsection (1) of this definition.
Includes a single individual.
One or more individuals, corporations, partnerships, associations, labor organizations, legal representatives, mutual companies, joint stock companies, trusts, unincorporated organizations, trustees, trustees in bankruptcy, receivers and fiduciaries.
A person 55 years of age or older.
Includes to lease, to sublease, to let and otherwise to grant for a consideration the right to occupy premises not owned by the occupant.
