No person shall cause a motor or other vehicle to be backed
to the curb upon any street or public place in the Village, for the
purpose of loading or unloading thereof, without permission being
first obtained from the Police Department.
No vehicle shall be driven so as to impede or obstruct the progress
of the apparatus of a Fire Department or any official or employee
of a town or Village in the discharge of his duty at a fire. The driver
of any vehicle must not drive through or within the established fire
lines or over a line of fire hose. On the approach of fire apparatus,
as evidenced by suitable continuous warning or by street signals visible
or audible one to another indicating the route of the apparatus, the
driver of any vehicle must immediately draw up such vehicle as near
as practicable to the right-hand curb and parallel thereto, and bring
it to a standstill and keep it stationary until the apparatus has
passed. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle, other
than a municipally owned or emergency vehicle on official business,
to follow closer than 500 feet, any fire apparatus traveling in response
to a fire alarm, or to drive into or stop any vehicle within the block
where fire apparatus has stopped to answer to a fire alarm.
No person or persons shall stand, store or park any motor or
horse drawn vehicle or other obstruction, or cause or permit the same
to stand or remain within 25 feet of the entrance to the nearest fire
house, or station or building in which any fire apparatus is kept
which is subject to respond to an alarm of fire.
No vehicle shall back from a side street into Broadway or Main
Street; nor shall any vehicle turn around and proceed in the opposite
direction on Broadway, between Cedar Hill Avenue and Second Avenue
or on Main Street between Broadway and Highland Avenue.
No vehicle shall stop inside the crosswalks where the same are
shown at street intersections.

A. No commercial vehicle, bus, or other public omnibus shall be permitted
to idle its engine for longer than five minutes on or along any street
or public highway within the Village of Nyack.
B. The penalty for a violation of this section shall be a fine not to
exceed $250.
C. This section may be enforced by the Village of Nyack Parking Authority,
the Clarkstown Police Department, or the Orangetown Police Department.

A. Streets designated. Pursuant to Vehicle and Traffic Law § 1640,
Subdivision (a)(5), all trucks in excess of 10 tons are hereby prohibited
from all roads and highways within the Village of Nyack, with the
exception of State Route 9W (Highland Avenue).
B. Construal of provisions. The regulations established in this section
shall not be construed to prevent the delivery or pickup of merchandise
or other property along such roads or highways within the Village
of Nyack which would otherwise be prohibited.
C. Posting of signs; penalties for offenses.
(1) Appropriate signs stating "No Through Trucking in Excess of Ten Tons"
shall be ordered and posted at the following intersections:
(a)
Main Street at the southeast corner of the intersection of Main
Street and State Route 9W.
(b)
Main Street at the southwest corner of the intersection of Main
Street and Midland Avenue.
(c)
North Midland Avenue at the Nyack Village border with Upper
Nyack.
(d)
North Franklin Street at the southwest corner of the intersection
of North Franklin Street and Sixth Avenue.
(e)
South Franklin Street at the Nyack Village border with South
Nyack.
(f)
North Broadway at the Nyack Village border with Upper Nyack.
(g)
South Broadway at the Nyack Village border with South Nyack.
(h)
Piermont Avenue at the Nyack Village border with South Nyack.
(2) Any violation of the provisions of this section shall constitute
a traffic infraction and shall be punishable by a fine of not more
than $500.
At all intersecting streets where traffic signals are maintained
and operated, vehicles shall not proceed in any direction but must
remain standing until the green signal light is displayed in the direction
in which the vehicle is headed or traveling.
Any vehicle of a length exceeding 35 feet, which shall include
any trailer, projecting from said vehicle or attachment thereto, operating
to and from the Ferry landing, must operate only on Main Street and
Highland Avenue.

The term "vehicle" used in this section includes all horsedrawn
vehicles, automobiles, motorcycles, trailers and all waterborne craft
of all types and sizes.
No person shall drive or ride any carriage, sleigh, bicycle
or automobile on, along or across any sidewalk in said Village, unless
it is to cross the same to go into or from an adjacent yard or lot,
under a penalty not exceeding $10 for each offense, and in addition
thereto, a violation of this article shall constitute disorderly conduct,
and a person violating the same shall be deemed a disorderly person.

No person or persons shall stand, store or park any motor vehicle
on, along or across any sidewalk in the Village of Nyack, under a
penalty not exceeding $100 for each offense.

No person or persons shall stand, store or park any motor vehicle
in front of any driveway in the Village of Nyack, under a penalty
not exceeding $100 for each offense.

A. Public conveyances shall not be permitted to stop at any place or
along any highway within the Village of Nyack except at designated
bus stops and then only for the purpose of discharging or taking on
passengers at said designated bus stops.
B. No private vehicles shall be permitted to park in bus stops.

A. Any person
found guilty of a violation of any of these regulations shall be liable
to a penalty not exceeding $250 for each and every offense, and a
violation of this article shall be deemed a traffic infraction.
B. In addition to the penalties referenced in §
330-15A, any costs or fees incurred in connection with the collection of outstanding past due parking tickets shall be assessed to the violator.
