The corporation of the City of Mexia, as it shall exist after
any extension of its corporate limits, shall be liable for all just
and legal indebtedness of said city, without further reference to
when same was contracted, and all the property included therein shall
be subject to taxation therefor, and the city council shall have full
power to enact all rules and regulations by ordinance for the assessment
and collection of taxes upon all of said property and property rights
in said territory to meet said indebtedness in the same manner and
to the same effect as existed previous to such extension.
All ordinances levying or assessing taxes for the fiscal year
in which such extension shall be made shall apply equally to all property
included within such extended limits, and said taxes shall be collected
thereunder upon all the property included in said city limits after
such extension.
