The boundaries of this district shall be utilized for heavy industrial uses that are inherently dangerous and those uses that are or may become noxious to the senses.

The following uses are permitted in the I district:
(1)
Any use permitted in any of the foregoing districts, provided that no property shall be used or permit issued for any of the following uses without the approval of the city council upon the recommendation of the city manager or their designee, except mobile homes outside of a mobile home park;
(2)
Cement and lime manufacture;
(3)
Distillation of bones;
(4)
Explosives manufacture or storage;
(5)
Fat rendering;
(6)
Garbage, offal or dead animal incineration, reduction or dumping;
(7)
Junkyard or automobile wrecking yard;
(8)
Petroleum refinery;
(9)
Slaughter and dressing animals including fowl;
(10)
Stockyard;
(11)
Gasoline storage in aboveground tanks;
(12)
Cotton compress, gin or seed processing;
(13)
Feed mill or grain elevator;
(14)
Gravel processing or sale;
(15)
Fertilizer manufacture;
(16)
Farming; and
(17)
Other industrial uses not allowed in other zoning districts.
