(a) 
The city establishes a municipal court technology fund for the purpose of financing the purchase of technological enhancements for the municipal court, including computer systems, computer networks, computer hardware, computer software, imaging systems, electronic kiosks, electronic ticket writers, and docket management systems, and to pay for service and maintenance agreements on technology purchased for courts.
(b) 
A technology fee in the amount provided in the fee schedule shall be assessed on all misdemeanor offenses on which there is a conviction. The fee shall be assessed as a cost of court, but it shall only be assessed on offenses committed after September 17, 1999.
(c) 
The municipal court clerk is authorized and required to collect the fee and to pay the fee to the city treasury. All fees so collected and paid over to the city treasury shall be segregated in the fund.
(d) 
The fund shall be administered by or under the direction of the city council.

(a) 
There is created and established a municipal court building security fund pursuant to Tex. Crim. Proc. Code, art. 102.017.
(b) 
The municipal court is authorized and required to assess a municipal court building security fee in the amount provided in the fee schedule against all defendants convicted in a trial of a misdemeanor offense by the municipal court. Each misdemeanor conviction shall be subject to a separate assessment of the fee.
(c) 
The municipal court clerk is authorized and required to collect the fee and to pay same to the city treasury. All fees so collected and paid over to the city treasury shall be segregated in the fund.
(d) 
The fund shall be used only for the purpose of financing the purchase of security devices and/or services for building or buildings housing the municipal court and any and all other items described in Tex. Crim. Proc. Code, article 102.017(d-1).
(e) 
The fund shall be administered by or under the direction of the city council.
