(a)
It is hereby officially found, determined and declared that, pursuant to an election held on September 20, 1947, the City of Sundown, Texas, was duly incorporated as a city under the provisions of chapter 12, title 28, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas of 1925, as amended.
(b)
It is hereby officially found, determined and declared that, pursuant to an election held on April 1, 1978, the form of government of the City of Sundown, Texas was changed from the commission form to the aldermanic form, as provided in article 977 of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas of 1925, as amended.
(c)
It is hereby officially found, determined and declared that the city presently has 600 or more inhabitants, and that the estimated population of the city as of the most recent decennial census conducted by the United States Bureau of the Census in the year 2020 was 1,457.
(d)
In accordance with the provisions of article 961, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas of 1925, as amended (presently codified as chapter 6, subchapter B, Texas Local Government Code), the city hereby adopts the provisions of provisions of chapters 1 through 10 of title 28 of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas of 1925, as amended and recodified.
(e)
The said city shall be known as the City of Sundown, Texas, and shall be subject to the provisions of title 28, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, relating to cities and towns, including particularly chapters 1 through 10 thereof, and shall be vested with all rights, powers, privileges, and immunities and franchises therein conferred.
