(a) 
Fire lane requirements.
All buildings and premises within the city shall be accessible to fire department apparatus by way of an access roadway, either public or private, with an all-weather driving surface of not less than twenty (20) feet of unobstructed width and a minimum of thirteen (13) feet six (6) inches of vertical clearance.
(b) 
Building fire lane; setbacks and height.
All buildings that are set back more than one hundred fifty (150) feet from a public road and all buildings that exceed thirty (30) feet in height and are set back more than fifty (50) feet from a public road shall provide a building fire lane to permit access to the building by fire department apparatus as required by this section.
(c) 
Building fire lane markings.
The owner of a building which is adjacent to a building fire lane required by this section shall, prior to the receipt of the permit for the building required by section 4-56 of this code, designate the building fire lane with markings in the style and form as published by the city fire marshal and to be obtained from the city fire marshal.
(d) 
Maintenance.
The owner of a building which is adjacent to a building fire lane required by this section is responsible for the maintenance in an operable condition of the building fire lane adjacent to the building and for the maintenance of the building fire lane markings required by this section.

Each violation of this article shall constitute a separate offense. Each day of a violation of this article shall also constitute a separate offense. Any person or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this article or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof, or who shall build, use, or alter any building in violation thereof shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be liable for a fine not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000.00).

The owner of a building adjacent to a building fire lane required by this article may, without the consent of the owner or operator of a vehicle parked or located in or on a designated fire lane, cause the unauthorized vehicle and any property on or in the vehicle to be removed and stored at a vehicle storage facility at the vehicle owner’s or operator’s expense if the vehicle is left unattended in or obstructing a building fire lane designated and marked as required by this article.
