A. 
There shall be a Special Events Committee, which shall serve as an advisory board to the Board of Aldermen for the creation and implementation of City events.
B. 
The Special Events Committee may consist of eight (8) voting members and may include at least two (2) City staff members, and one (1) non-voting Alderman member appointed by the Mayor of the City of Kimberling City. All members shall be residents within the Reeds Spring School District boundaries.
C. 
Special Events Committee members may serve on other City of Kimberling City boards, commissions, or committees since special events will not have conflicts of interest with Park Board, Planning and Zoning, Economic Development, or Police Committee agenda items.
D. 
The Special Events Committee, on an annual basis, shall appoint from amongst the regular members of this Committee one (1) person to serve as Chairperson and a second regular member to serve as Secretary, for each calendar year.

A. 
Members of the Special Events Committee shall serve two-year terms. All terms shall run June 1 through May 31 of each year. Each member, at the end of his/her respective term, must request reappointment by the Mayor. The Mayor at his/her discretion shall, by and with the consent of the Board of Aldermen, reappoint the member for a two-year term.
B. 
The Board of Aldermen may remove any member for cause stated in writing.
C. 
If a Committee member is absent from three (3) meetings in a calendar year, the member could be removed from the Committee by a unanimous vote from a majority of the Committee members. If the member requests reinstatement, he/she must submit a request, in writing, to the Mayor for approval.

The Special Events Committee shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Aldermen of the City of Kimberling City. The Special Events Committee shall plan and coordinate activities for City events. It shall prepare and submit to the City Administrator an anticipated annual budget for all special events, broken down by event. The Committee may plan and coordinate fund-raising activities for special events to offset expenses. Nothing contained in this Section shall authorize the Committee to enter into any contract or agreement or otherwise use funds for the City of Kimberling City without the approval of the City Administrator.

All members of the Committee shall serve without compensation.

The City of Kimberling City may make provisions in its budget and appropriate funds for the expenses of the Special Events Committee as it deems necessary and appropriate based upon all priorities of the municipality. Any and all expenditures must be approved by the Board of Aldermen during annual budget review, and all funds for special events must be included and broken down by event at that time.
