It shall be the duty of the Building Official to enforce this
Ordinance. The Code Enforcement Officer shall act as the Building
Official, in the event the City Manager has not designated a Building
Official. If the City Secretary shall find that any of the provisions
of this Ordinance are being violated, she/he shall notify in writing
the persons responsible for such violations, including the nature
of the violation and ordering the action necessary to correct it,
and shall take such other action as is authorized by law to ensure
compliance with or to prevent violation of its provisions.

No building or other structure shall be erected, constructed,
enlarged, altered or repaired in such manner as to prolong the life
of the building that is not in compliance of this Ordinance. No building
permit shall be issued for any construction not conforming to this
Ordinance.

No change shall be made in the use of any land or building or
structure after the passage of this Ordinance that is not in compliance
of this Ordinance.

A violation of this Ordinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor
and shall be punishable by fine. Any person, firm, or corporation
who violates or refuses to comply with any of the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be fined in accordance with current fee for each offense.
Each day that a violation permitted to exist shall constitute a separate
offense.
