The purpose of the article is to prohibit the removal of recyclable
material by unauthorized persons.

(a)
Collectors
of redeemable containers of beverages shall be permitted by the City
Clerk’s office; and to pay a fee established by the City Clerk.
(b)
Collectors
shall have said permit available for inspection while performing said
task.
(c)
Collectors
shall remove no other recyclable items, such as metals, products made
of recyclable materials or items for the purpose of resale, without
first securing a junk collector’s license.
(d)
Collectors
shall follow such rules and regulations as set forth by the Inspectional
Services Department.
(e)
The
ordinance codified in this section shall take effect upon passage
by the City Council and approval by his Honor the Mayor.
