Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by the assessment of a fine as provided for in section
1.01.009 of this code.

The director of public works shall cause to be posted at the
below-mentioned intersections and at such other locations along the
below-described portions of streets, as may be necessary to provide
adequate notice, signs prohibiting the operation of motor vehicles
as hereinafter provided, said signs to be in compliance with all federal
and state statutes and city ordinances regulating the use, placement,
and physical characteristics of such signs.

It shall be unlawful to operate any motor-propelled vehicle
in excess of a certain weight on portions of streets established by
ordinance. Such ordinances have not been included in this section,
but they are specifically saved from repeal and are on file in the
city secretary’s office.
