An operator of a bicycle moving below the speed of other traffic
shall ride as near as practicable to the right curb or edge of the
roadway, except when:
(1) The person
is overtaking and passing another vehicle going in the same direction;
(2) The person
is preparing to turn left at an intersection or onto a private road
or driveway;
(3) Conditions
of the roadway, including fixed or moving objects or vehicles, pedestrians,
animals, surface hazards or substandard lanes, make it unsafe to ride
next to the right curb or edge of the roadway; or
(4) The person
is operating a bicycle in an outside (righthand) lane that is less
than 14 feet in width and does not have a designated bicycle lane
adjacent to that lane, or it is too narrow for a bicycle and a motor
vehicle to safely travel side by side.

(a) It shall
be unlawful for any person to ride a bicycle upon, over, or along
any public street, highway or alley or on any public property in the
town in such a reckless, indifferent or careless manner as to unreasonably
endanger any person or property.
(b) No person
shall knowingly cause or permit the unlawful operation of a bicycle
or the operation of a bicycle by a person lacking the physical or
mental judgment or maturity to operate the bicycle in a reasonably
safe and careful manner without creating an unreasonable hazard to
the operator of the bicycle or others.
(c) An operator
of a bicycle shall comply with traffic laws and regulations applicable
to operators of motor vehicles when operating a bicycle on a public
street or highway.
(d) An operator
of a bicycle shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians on public
streets, highways, alleys, sidewalks, and all public ways.

No person shall operate or ride on any bicycle upon a public
street, highway or alley in the town with two or more persons upon
the same bicycle; provided, however, that this restriction shall not
apply to tandem bicycles or other bicycles equipped and manufactured
for two or more riders. A person operating a bicycle shall not ride
other than upon or astride a permanent and regular seat attached thereto.
No bicycle shall be used to carry more persons at one time than the
number for which it is designed or equipped.

No person, while riding or operating a bicycle on any public
street, highway or alley in the town shall hold on or cling to any
other vehicle while in motion. It shall be unlawful for any person
operating a bicycle to cling to or attach himself or the bicycle to
any other moving vehicle on any public street, highway, alley or public
way.

(a) No person
shall leave a bicycle lying or standing in a manner that hinders or
impedes pedestrian or vehicular traffic upon public sidewalks or paths
or upon a public street, highway or alley within the town, and all
persons shall take proper care to insure that his bicycle is so placed
as to avoid annoyance and danger of accident.
(b) The town
may designate such place or places within commercial zones exclusively
for parking of bicycles and no person shall stand, park or leave any
bicycle on a road, alley or sidewalk within 200 feet of any such place
designated exclusively for bicycle parking by the town.

(a) The provisions
of this section shall apply to all bicycles being operated on a public
street, highway or alley within the town later than one-half hour
after sunset and earlier than one-half hour before sunrise.
(b) A bicycle
shall have a lamp or light affixed to the front of the bicycle with
a white light visible from a distance of at least 500 feet to the
front or an amber reflector affixed to the front of the bicycle of
at least two and one-half (2-1/2) inches in diameter.
(c) A bicycle
shall have a red reflector attached to the rear of at least two and
one-half (2-1/2) inches in diameter that is of a type approved by
the state department of public safety and visible when directly in
front of lawful upper beams of motor vehicle headlamps from a distance
of at least 300 feet to the rear of the bicycle or a lamp that emits
a red light visible from a distance of 500 feet to the rear of the
bicycle.
