(a) 
The owner of an impounded animal will pay the town the following fees in order to redeem such animal:
(1) 
First impoundment $25.00
(2) 
Second impoundment within one year $35.00
(3) 
Third impoundment within one year $45.00
(4) 
Fourth Impoundment within one year $55.00
(5) 
Each additional impoundment within one year of first impoundment $65.00
(b) 
The term “year” as used in this section shall refer to any 12-month period.
(c) 
A handling charge of $10.00 per day will be added to the above amount before redemption of the animal.
(d) 
Any person claiming an animal that has not been vaccinated for rabies within the past three years shall pay an impoundment fee of $25.00 plus a $10.00 per day boarding fee. Upon release of the animal, the owner has (10) days to give the animal control officer written proof signed by a licensed veterinarian that the animal has been vaccinated for rabies. If the animal control officer has not received written proof of the vaccination fee for rabies, the owner is in violation of this article and subject to the fines prescribed herein.

A person who desires to adopt an animal from the designated shelter shall:
(1) 
Pay an adoption fee of $15.00; pay any license fee, if required; have the animal vaccinated for rabies within five (5) days after adoption.
(2) 
If an adopted animal is spayed or neutered within ten (10) days after adoption and proof of this procedure signed by a licensed veterinarian is presented to the animal control officer within ten (10) days after adoption, a ten dollar ($10.00) fee will be refunded to the owner. This return applies to animals 6 months or older.
