The fiscal year as established by Ordinance No. 74-08-27-C is changed from the calendar year to the fiscal year of October 1 through September 30.

(a) 
Authorized.
A city official who collects fees, fines, court costs, or other charges is hereby authorized to:
(1) 
Accept payment of fees, fines and other charges by credit card;
(2) 
Collect a fee for processing a payment made by credit card; and
(3) 
Collect a service charge if a payment by credit card is not honored by the credit card company.
(b) 
Processing fee and charge limits.
(1) 
The fee authorized by subsection (a)(2) may not exceed 5% of the amount of the fee, fine, court cost, or other charge paid by credit card.
(2) 
The fee authorized by subsection (a)(3) shall be the same amount as the fee charged for the collection of a check drawn on an account with insufficient funds.
(c) 
Disposition of funds.
The city official collecting a fee or charge under this section shall deposit the fee or charge in the general fund of the city.
