Any board, commission, or committee that is statutorily required to follow the Texas Open Meetings Act (chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code) shall do so. Unless required by statute, the Texas Open Meetings Act shall not apply to other boards, commissions, and committees, but all records of each board, commission, and committee shall be retained as a city record and is considered a record under the Texas Public Information Act (chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code). Regardless of whether statutorily required to follow the provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act, all boards, commissions, and committees shall have written agendas and minutes of each meeting.
