The purpose of this committee is to offer advice and guidance to the city council in adopting policies and programs that provide for the safety of the public and the health of the city’s wildlife.
The members are to be nominated by the mayor and confirmed by the city council in accordance with the requirements established in the city’s charter. The city council may also appoint two (2) alternate members to the commission who shall serve in the absence of one or more regular members when requested to do so by the chair.
The mayor in consultation with the council liaison for this commission shall designate a member to serve in the capacity of chair.

The committee shall have the power to make recommendations to the city council related to wildlife management, wildlife programs and policies including article 4.02 of this code.

The term of office shall run concurrently with the term of the mayor. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as appointment.

The committee shall meet at least quarterly in a public forum, and may adopt such other rules and regulations for the conduct of its business as are necessary and convenient.

A majority of the membership shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of transacting business. Action by the committee shall be by a majority vote.

A committee member may be removed by majority vote of the city council at any time.
