(a)
An owner may make minor improvements and repairs on any structure without a permit provided there is no structural, electrical, mechanical or plumbing system alteration.
(b)
Work requiring a permit includes but is not limited to:
(1)
New construction;
(2)
Additions such as screened-in porches, sunrooms, basement finish-outs, carports or garage conversions, outdoor living areas, swimming pools, boat docks, patios, deck enclosures;
(3)
Alterations such as new siding or siding replacement, driveway replacement, flatwork, retaining walls, framing modifications;
(4)
HVAC addition;
(5)
Decks exceeding 200 square feet in area, attached to the main home and constructed more than 30-inches above the natural grade;
(6)
New fence, fence extensions or fence replacement that alters the placement or design of the fence.

Roof replacement or alteration that alters the design, material or slope of the roof.
