Home occupations are permitted as an accessory use within R-1, R-1E, R-1S, R-1M, and R-2 districts, subject to the following limitations of use:
(1) 
Accountant.
(2) 
Architect.
(3) 
Author.
(4) 
Babysitting (12 children or less).
(5) 
Clergyman.
(6) 
Computer programmer or analyst.
(7) 
Consultant.
(8) 
Craftsmen, including artists.
(9) 
Lawyer.
(10) 
Photographer.
(11) 
Real estate broker.
(12) 
Salesperson.
(13) 
Seamstress or tailor.
(14) 
Secretary or bookkeeper.
(15) 
Teacher.
(16) 
Other uses, which in the judgment of the commission as evidenced by a written resolution, are similar and no more objectionable than those enumerated in this subsection.

A home occupation is only permitted as an accessory use in a residential dwelling if it meets the following conditions:
(1) 
It is conducted within the principal building, provided that the home occupation use does not exceed more than 50 percent of the gross floor area of the principal building;
(2) 
A separate entrance is not provided for the conduct of the occupations;
(3) 
An alteration is not made that changes the character of the dwelling;
(4) 
It does not use outdoor storage;
(5) 
A sign may be utilized to advertise the home occupation provided it is nonilluminated, displayed in a window or securely attached to the principal building, and does not exceed three square feet in size;
(6) 
It does not require the delivery or shipment of merchandise, goods, or equipment by other than passenger motor vehicles, one ton step-up vans or similar sized trucks;
(7) 
It does not create or cause any perceptible noise, odor, smoke, electrical interference or vibrations to emanate from the premises; and
(8) 
It is conducted so that it does not create parking or traffic congestion or otherwise place an undue burden on the abutting or adjoining neighbors or the immediate neighborhood.
