The Bellville Times is hereby designated as the official newspaper
of the city as per the Local Government Code, section 52.004. The
designation of “official newspaper” shall remain in effect
until changed by resolution adopted by council.

The city administrator and the city secretary are authorized
to enter any safe deposit box maintained by the city when accompanied
by an elected official of the city. Both officers of the city must
sign the depository institution’s records to reflect the time
and date of entry.

Any person presenting to the city a check or sight draft which for a lack of sufficient funds or for any reason is returned to the city unpaid shall pay to the city an additional fee as provided for in the fee schedule found in appendix
A of this code.

No officer in the regular employ of the city police department
shall receive compensation for warrants served within the city or
warrants served during regular duty hours. Any commissioned law enforcement
officer who is not in the regular employ of the city may be compensated
for serving a warrant at a rate not to exceed $35.00 per service when
specifically authorized by the chief of police of the city.
