No motor vehicle shall be driven or operated on the streets
of the city at a speed that is greater than reasonable and prudent
under the conditions then existing. Unless posted otherwise, any speed
greater than thirty (30) miles per hour is presumed to be unreasonable.
Notwithstanding the above, all streets located within the Bell Oaks,
Briarwood and Meadows subdivisions shall have a maximum of twenty
(20) miles per hours and shall be so posted.

(a) All drivers shall stop their vehicles at an intersection marked with
a stop sign or a clearly marked stop line. A uniform stop sign that
is visible is presumed to be valid and enforceable. The council shall
adopt and maintain a list of all locations where stop signs are authorized.
The list shall be maintained in the office of the city secretary.
(b) Four-way flashing beacon signals shall be erected at designated locations,
and all motorists shall come to a complete stop on approaching such
signal devices.
(c) The designation of stop sign locations shall be done from time to
time by the city. Such locations are not set forth in this code, but
a listing thereof shall be maintained in the office of the city secretary
and is specifically saved from repeal.

(a) All drivers shall yield the right-of-way when approaching an intersection
marked with yield sign. A uniform yield sign that is visible is presumed
to be valid and enforceable. The council shall adopt and maintain

The following streets shall be designated for one-way vehicular
traffic only:
(1) Northerly travel only on Bell Street from the northern boundary of
its intersection with East Luhn Street to the southern boundary of
its intersection with East Palm Street.
(2) All traffic entering the public square on Highway 36 from either
the east or west shall drive to the right around the courthouse. Also
all traffic entering the public square from other streets shall drive
to the right around the courthouse.
(3) Southern travel only on South Holland from the intersection of East
Main south for 75 feet.
(4) Southern travel only on North Holland beginning 75 feet north of
E. Main.
(5) Southern traffic only on South Miller Street from teh southerly boundary
at the intersection of East Main Street to the northern boundary of
its intersection with East Luhn Street.

All traffic shall travel at a speed not greater than twenty
(20) miles per hour between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and
between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on every day that classes
are held at the Bellville Independent School District on the following
streets beginning at the intersection:
(1) S. Matthews between Austin Street and E. Thaemer Street.
(2) O’Bryant Street between S. Bell Street and Live Oak Street.
(3) S. Live Oak between Austin Street and O’Bryant Street.
(4) W. Meyer from S. Hillard to the dead-end of W. Meyer.
(5) E. Austin Street to S. Live Oak Street.
