Editor’s note–At the direction of the city, the following changes have been made to the subdivision ordinance:
* References to the city secretary or town secretary have been changed to “City Clerk.”
*“Public Works Director” has been changed to “Director of Public Works.”
*Fee amounts have been omitted and replaced by language such as “a fee in the amount set forth in the fee schedule adopted by the City Council.”
*References to “Town” have been changed to “City.”
ORDINANCE NO. 0035
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS, STANDARDS, REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES FOR THE SUBDIVISION OF LAND IN THE TOWN OF HORIZON CITY, EL PASO COUNTY, TEXAS, AND ITS EXTRATERRITORIAL PLANNING AND PLATTING JURISDICTION, PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENTS THERETO, AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION THEREOF.
Whereas, the Town of Horizon City desires to provide for the peace, health, and safety of its inhabitants and residents; and
Whereas, the Mayor and City Council of the Town of Horizon City have read and examined this
Ordinance and are fully apprised of all elements herein; and
Whereas, land regulations for the Town of Horizon City and its planning and platting jurisdiction are necessary for the preservation of the peace, health, and safety of its inhabitants and residents; and
Whereas the governing body of the Town of Horizon City finds that the adoption of land subdivision regulations, standards, requirements and procedures is the best method and manner of regulating the subdivision of land within its municipal limits and its extraterritorial planning and platting jurisdiction; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE TOWN OF HORIZON CITY, TEXAS, THAT:
I. Pursuant to its regulatory authority as provided in Chapter 212, Texas Local Government Code, and in complete accordance with legal procedures contained therein, the Town of Horizon City, Texas, through its City Council, after more than a 15-day notice was published as to a time and place of the public hearing, hereby adopts these regulations to become effective immediately upon its passage.
II. That this Ordinance was duly enacted with all the requisites and formalities incident thereto the enactment of ordinances, and such is evidenced by the below signatures.
