(a)
Definition.
For purposes of this division, "existing
building code" shall mean the 2021 International Existing Building
Code (sometimes referred to as IEBC), including any and all amendments
or revisions thereto adopted.
(b)
Adoption.
In conformance with V.T.C.A., Local Government
Code, chapter 214, subchapter G, sections 214.211 through 214.214,
the 2021 International Existing Building Code, including appendices
A, B, and C, is hereafter adopted as the municipal existing building
code for the city. The 2021 International Existing Building Code shall
apply to the repair, alteration, change of occupancy, addition and
relocation of existing buildings, including historic buildings, in
the city. The city council may establish procedures to adopt local
amendments to the International Existing Building Code and for the
administration and enforcement of the International Existing Building
Code.

Copies on file.
Copies of the 2021 International Existing
Building Code will be maintained on file in the office of the planning
and development department and may be viewed online at https://codes.iccsafe.org/codes/i-codes/2021-icode, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling as set out herein
in the construction of all buildings and other structures within the
corporate limits of the city.

The 2021 International Existing Building Code adopted by section 4.02.091 shall be amended as set forth in Ordinance 2023-018, which is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein.
