(a) Pursuant
to House Bill 603, Acts 52nd Legislature, R.S. 1951 and Public Law
734, 81st Congress, Ch. 809, 2d, H.R. 6000, the city council acting
for and on behalf of the city, shall enter into all necessary agreements
with the Texas Department of Human Services for the purpose of carrying
out the provisions of the above mentioned acts.
(b) The
mayor of the city is hereby appointed as agent of the city council
and of the city to execute all necessary agreements and instruments
for and in behalf of the city council and city.
(c) The
finance department is hereby directed to be responsible for making
assessments, collections, payments, and reports, as required by the
Texas Department of Human Services.
(d) A sufficient
sum of money shall be allocated and set aside to be known as the “City
of Odessa Social Security Fund,” which fund shall be set aside
and maintained in the regular city depository.

(a) Social
security coverage is hereby extended to all policemen who voted for
coverage in the referendum held on January 7, 1965, and to all policemen
who are employed after January 7, 1965.
(b) The
mayor is authorized and directed to execute all instruments necessary
to effectuate said coverage.
(c) The
necessary funds for said coverage were allocated by the city under
Resolution 65R-8, dated January 12, 1965. All other acts and things
required to be done to provide said coverage shall be done by the
city.
