is the charter of the City of Odessa, Texas, which was adopted at
an election held on April 3, 1945. Apart from minor nonsubstantive
changes in style and formatting, the charter is reproduced as it appeared
in the 1957 Code of Ordinances. Capitalization, punctuation and grammar
have been retained. Obviously misspelled words have been corrected
without notation. Material enclosed in brackets has been added for
clarification. As printed in the 1957 Code of Ordinances, the sections
of the charter had been renumbered consecutively as sections 1 through
96. The original section number, as well as any amendments to a section,
are indicated by the history note following the section.
