(A)
(1)
The chief executive officer of the city shall be the Mayor, who shall be elected by the qualified voters of the city, and shall hold his or her office for two years, and until his or her successor shall be elected and qualified.
(2)
No person shall be Mayor unless he or she be at least 25 years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the city at the time of and for at least one year next preceding his or her election.
(B)
When two or more persons shall have an equal number of votes for the Office of Mayor, the matter shall be determined by the Board of Aldermen.
