(a) Adoption.
The city council hereby adopts the following codes as stated, including all amendments and annual supplements published thereto, including appendix chapters, inclusive; [such codes] are on file in the office of the code compliance officer for permanent record and inspection:
(1) International Building Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Building Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts Option B of the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Building Code.
(2) International Fuel Gas Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Fuel Gas Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Fuel Gas Code.
(3) International Plumbing Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Plumbing Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Plumbing Code.
(4) International Mechanical Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Mechanical Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Mechanical Code.
(5) International Electrical Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Electrical Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Electrical Code.
(6) International Energy Conservation Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Energy Conservation Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Energy Conservation Code.
(7) International Property Maintenance Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Property Maintenance Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Property Maintenance Code.
(8) International Residential Code, 2015 edition.
(A) Adopted.
The city council adopts International Residential Code, 2015 edition, as published by the International Code Council, and its appendices.
(B) Amendments.
The city council adopts the NCTCOG regional amendments to the International Residential Code.
(b) Responsibility for enforcement.
The chief building official, or his authorized representative, is hereby authorized and directed to enforce all provisions of the International Codes, as adopted and as amended, unless the code designates another official of the city, or by virtue of designated duties and responsibilities another city official is deemed responsible for enforcement, [in which case] the same shall be deemed the responsible official for enforcement of the code.
(c) Penalty.
Any person, firm or corporation who knowingly or intentionally violates the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and assessed court costs as provided by law. The person, firm or corporation may also be subject to forfeiture of any and all permits and licenses.
