Editor's note–Former division 2 pertaining to the City Administrator was eliminated by Ordinance 2024-114 adopted 8/20/2024, but then was subsequently reinstated by Ordinance 2025-112 adopted 5/27/2025.
The office of city administrator shall be filled by appointment by the mayor and approved by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the city council.

The duties of said administrator shall include:
(1) 
Management and control of all city personnel, including the right to employ, supervise, discipline and discharge;
(2) 
Management and control of the financial affairs of the city; and
(3) 
Advising and counseling of the city council in the performance of its governmental functions.

The holder of the office of said administrator shall serve by contractual arrangement and may be removed by the two-thirds (2/3) vote of the city council at a council meeting.

The city council, by majority vote thereof, shall set the amount of compensation to be paid for the city administrator and the council may from time to time, by majority vote, change any rate of compensation which it has theretofore set for such office.

This division is adopted and the office of city administrator is created under the applicable provisions and by authority of Texas Local Government, chapter 22.
