(a) 
It shall be the duty of every owner, agent, and occupant of any house within the city limits to place thereon an official house number.
(b) 
It shall be the duty and responsibility of every owner, agent, or occupant of any house or nonresidential building within the city limits to post or display the official address numbers assigned to the property within the required front yard or on the front of such house or building in such a manner as to be legible and plainly visible from the street in front of the property. Such numbers shall be at least four inches (4") high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals or alphabet letters. Such numbers shall be:
(1) 
Composed of an indestructible, bright material that contrasts with its background; or
(2) 
Painted in a color that contrasts with its background.
(c) 
The unit of space for numbering shall be twenty-five feet (25') and an official number shall be reserved for each twenty-five-foot (25') front on each street.

Such numbers shall be at least four inches (4") high with a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch. Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals or alphabet letters. Such numbers shall be:
(1) 
Composed of an indestructible, bright material that contrasts with its background; or
(2) 
Painted in a color that contrasts with its background.
(b) 
It shall be the duty and responsibility of every owner, agent, or occupant of any property in the city limits to comply with the provisions and requirements of this section within six (6) months from the date of passing of this section. Further, it shall be the duty and responsibility of the owner, agent, or occupant of all property to continuously maintain such number as to be plainly visible and legible from the alley at all times.

(a) 
Street numbering shall be in conformity and shall correspond with the system of numbering now used in the Town of Highland Park for streets running east and west and the City of Dallas for streets running north and south.
(b) 
The base line for the placing of numbers shall be Mockingbird Lane and Hillcrest Avenue. On all streets running north from Mockingbird Lane the numbering shall begin with 5700 and running north shall be increased by 100 for each block. On streets running west from Hillcrest Avenue the numbering shall begin with 3400 and running west shall be increased by 100 for each block. On all streets running east from Hillcrest Avenue the numbering shall begin with 3300 and shall decrease 100 for each block running east.
(c) 
On all streets running north and south the houses facing east shall bear odd numbers and the houses facing west shall bear even numbers. On all streets running east and west the houses facing north shall bear odd numbers and the houses facing south shall bear even numbers.
(d) 
A residential building that is constructed on a platted lot or tract shall have an official street address determined by the community development director in accordance with the following requirements:
(1) 
The street number shall correspond to the numbers assigned to the street adjacent to and abutting the front of the residential building. The front of the residential building, for the purposes of this subsection, shall be the portion of the building adjacent to and abutting the required front yard setback of the lot as required by the zoning regulations of the city; and
(2) 
The U.S. mail receptacle and main entrance of the building shall be located in the front of the building.

It shall be the duty of the community development director to give the proper official number to any person requesting same and to see that all houses are properly numbered in accordance with this article.
