Any circumstance that calls for immediate action and in which the element of time in transporting the sick, wounded, or injured for medical treatment is essential to the health or life of the person. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to, accidents generally, traffic accidents, acts of violence resulting in personal injury and sudden illness.
The MICU trip to the place where the emergency exists, or from the place of such emergency to a hospital equipped with an emergency room.
The emergency trip to the place where the emergency exists, or from the place of such emergency to a hospital equipped with an emergency room.
The fire department of the city.
Any motor vehicle especially designed, constructed, equipped and used for transporting the injured or sick in answer to an emergency call.

The fire department of the city shall provide MICU service within the city or, when requested by proper authority, within the city limits of Highland Park or the City of Dallas.

(a)
A fee shall be charged per trip per person for the transportation by mobile intensive care unit of a person or persons to a hospital providing emergency medical attention within the boundaries of the county.
(b)
The person receiving MICU service and any person contracting for the service shall be responsible for the payment of the fee. In the event service is received by a minor, the parent or guardian of the minor shall be responsible for payment of the fee.

It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully inform the fire department dispatchers, police department dispatcher or other fire or police officials that an emergency ambulance or more than one (1) emergency ambulance is needed at a location or address when such person knows that such emergency call and emergency run is false.
