Except as provided in section
12.05.003(a)(2), in a residential zoning district, as defined by the comprehensive zoning ordinance of the city, a person commits an offense if he parks or leaves unattended a mobile home, motor home, travel trailer, recreational vehicle, boat, boat trailer, stock trailer, or any other type of trailer or similar motor vehicle for a continuous period longer than twenty-four (24) hours in front of the front building line of such property, as the term “front building line” is defined by the comprehensive zoning ordinance of the city. In a residential zoning district, as defined by the comprehensive zoning ordinance of the city, a person commits an offense if he parks or leaves unattended a mobile home, motor home, travel trailer, recreational vehicle, boat, boat trailer, stock trailer, or any other type of trailer or similar motor vehicle on any surface other than concrete, asphalt, or other hard-surfaced durable material approved by the city engineer.
