(a) Abandoned motor vehicle.(1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) Antique auto. Inoperable. Junked vehicle. Motor vehicle collector. Ordinary public view. Property owner. Special interest vehicle.
As used in this article the words and terms defined in this section shall have the meanings ascribed, unless the context clearly indicates another meaning:
A motor vehicle that:
Is inoperable, is more than five years old, and has been left unattended on public property for more than 48 hours;
Has remained illegally on public property for more than 48 hours;
Has remained on private property without the consent of the owner or person in charge of the property for more than 48 hours;
Has been left unattended on the right-of-way of a designated county, state, or federal highway for more than 48 hours;
Has been left unattended for more than 24 hours on the right-of-way of a turnpike project constructed and maintained by the Texas Turnpike Authority division of the Texas Department of Transportation or a controlled access highway; or
Is considered an abandoned motor vehicle under V.T.C.A., Transportation Code sec. 644.153(r).
A passenger car or truck that is at least 25 years old.
A vehicle that is in such condition at the time of inspection, that it is no longer usable for the purpose for which it was manufactured, regardless of the potential for repair or restoration. If the vehicle is wrecked, dismantled or partially dismantled it is presumed to be inoperable.
A vehicle that:
A person who:
A vehicle or any part thereof or the tarp or cover thereon is visible at any time of the year from any public right-of-way, or adjacent land or the first floor level of a building thereon, which is owned or occupied by a person other than the property owner or occupant of the property on which the vehicle is located or parked.
The owner of any premises, as listed in the real property tax records of the city on which the junked vehicle is located.
A motor vehicle of any age that has not been altered or modified from original manufacturer’s specifications and, because of its historic interest, is being preserved by hobbyists.
(b)
Any other term whose definition shall come into question concerning the enforcement of this article shall have the meaning assigned to it by V.T.C.A., Transportation Code sec. 683.001 et seq., or where not assigned, that meaning generally associated with such term, word, or phrase unless context dictates otherwise.
