For the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard
life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and
controlling the design, construction, quality of all swimming pools
and spas within the city and certain equipment specifically regulated
herein, the 2021 edition of the International Swimming Pool and Spa
Code, as published by the International Code Council, a copy of which
is on file in the office of the city secretary, is hereby adopted
and designated as the swimming pool and spa code of the city to the
same extent as if such code were copied verbatim in this article.
The title of this article shall be the "Swimming Pool and Spa Code
of the City of City of DeSoto," and it may be cited as such.

in this article, is hereby modified by the deletions, amendments and
