(a) 
Pursuant to chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code, § 143.042, assignment pay, is hereby established for a firefighter designated by the fire chief to perform the specialized function listed herein. Assignment pay shall be paid in the amount of $100.00 per month to the one (1) firefighter who has been designated by the fire chief to perform the following specialized functions:

$1,200.00 per year/$50.00 per biweekly pay period

$1,200.00 per year/$50.00 per biweekly pay period

$1,200.00 per year/$50.00 per biweekly pay period
Training Officer
$1,200.00 per year/$50.00 per biweekly pay period
(b) 
Assignment pay - paramedic in the amount of $125.00 per month is hereby authorized for firefighters assigned to perform or instruct paramedic duties as assigned by the fire chief. Paramedic assignment pay will be calculated on a biweekly basis and will be paid at the amount of $62.50 per biweekly check.

(a) 
Certification pay is authorized in accordance with Local Government Code 143.044(b). That certification pay for firefighters certified under the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP), is authorized for each certification obtained, in the following amounts:

$50.00 per month (paid $25.00 biweekly)
Advanced Firefighter
$50.00 per month (paid $25.00 biweekly)
Master Firefighter
$50.00 per month (paid $25.00 biweekly)
(b) 
Firefighters are authorized to receive payment for all three certifications as they are obtained, not to exceed $150.00 a month.
