Any person or persons found to be in violation of any of the provisions of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined the maximum amount allowed by law.

(a) 
No person shall operate or cause to be operated any commercial motor vehicle, truck-tractor, trailer, semi-trailer, or any combination thereof through the city in inter-city travel without a local destination or point of origin, except on streets designated as truck routes by this article. Where it becomes necessary to leave designated truck routes, the vehicles shall remain on streets designated commercial delivery routes unless to proceed to or return from a point of destination or service facility by the quickest possible route.
(b) 
The provisions of this section shall not apply to:
(1) 
Emergency vehicles operating in response to an emergency call;
(2) 
Vehicles operated by a public utility for the purpose of inspecting or maintaining said utility;
(3) 
Sanitation or public works vehicles as designated by the city council.

(a) 
The following streets are designated as truck routes under this article:
(1) 
Westworth Blvd. (State Highway 183).
(2) 
White Settlement Road.
(b) 
The following streets are designated commercial delivery routes under this article:
(1) 
Burton Hill Road.
(2) 
Roaring Springs Road.
(3) 
North Pumphrey Drive.
(c) 
The enforcing authority shall erect appropriate signs and markings to designate the routes described herein.

Whenever any street designated as a truck route or commercial delivery route is being repaired or is otherwise temporarily out of use, the enforcing authority is hereby authorized to designate alternate routes for such period as might be necessary.

(a) 
It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to operate or run upon any public street or highway in the city any vehicle which has on its periphery any block, lug, stud, cleat, ridge, bead, or any other protuberance of metal that shall project more than one-fourth of an inch beyond the tread or traction surface of the tires, unless said wheels are protected by bands, wooden blocks, skids, or some sufficient device to protect the street against injury by reason thereof.
(b) 
Nothing herein shall prevent the use of vehicles actually engaged at the time in construction or repair of the streets.
(c) 
Nothing herein shall be construed to prevent the use of conventional tire chains during adverse weather conditions.
