In this article:
Pool or swimming pool.
A body of water in an artificial or semiartificial receptacle or other container which is over 18 inches deep, used or intended to be used for public, semipublic or private swimming by persons, located at ground level, above ground level, below ground level or indoors and includes wading or reflection pools, hot tubs, and spas.
Pool yard.
An area that contains a pool.
Pool yard enclosure.
A fence, wall, or combination of fences, walls, gates, windows or doors that completely surround a pool.

Every outdoor swimming pool shall be completely surrounded by a pool yard enclosure constructed in accordance with the provisions of V.T.C.A., Local Government Code, ch. 214, subch. C, sec. 214.101 et seq.
