(a)
Impoundment costs shall include an assessment of $40.00 for the first impoundment of a dog or other animal, excluding horses, cows, sheep and goats; provided, however, if the owner can provide proof that the impounded animal has been spayed or neutered, then the first impoundment cost will be $25.00. Upon a dog or other animal’s second impoundment, the cost shall include an assessment of $50.00 and thereafter impoundment costs shall be assessed at $60.00. The impoundment cost for horses, cows, sheep and goats shall include an assessment of $100.00 for each impoundment.
(b)
In addition to the above-described impoundment fees, a boarding charge of $10.00 per day shall be made for dogs and other animals of any kind, except that the boarding charge for dogs and cats quarantined for rabies observation shall be $15.00 per day. A fee of $30.00 will be assessed the owner of any animal quarantined on the owner’s premises for the cost of inspection of the premises while the animal is quarantined.
(c)
Any person adopting an animal from the department of animal services shall pay an adoption fee of $35.00.
