It shall be unlawful to discharge any firearm or air gun, BB
gun, or any toy gun, projecting lead or any missiles excepting in
a regularly established shooting gallery, gun range, or private hunting
club; provided that this section shall not be construed to prohibit
any officer of the law from discharging a firearm in the performance
of his duty, nor to any citizen from discharging a firearm when lawfully
defending person or property.
