Ordinances calling elections as well as those certifying election results for the imposition of sales and use taxes are on file in the office of the city secretary.

The 65th Legislature, 1st called session, has enacted legislation exempting residential use of gas and electricity from the 4% state sales tax and providing a local option on the 1% city sales tax. The 1% sales tax on utilities shall be retained.
