(a)
There is adopted by the city, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, removal, and maintenance of electric wiring and apparatus, including permits and penalties, that certain electrical code known as the National Electrical Code (NEC), 2023 edition, NFPA 70, save and except those portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified, or amended, of which not less than one copy has been and now is filed in the office of the code compliance official. The provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction, alteration, maintenance or removal of all electrical wiring and apparatus within the corporate limits of the city. Each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions, and terms of such National Electrical Code (NEC), 2023 edition, published by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and on file in the office of the code compliance official, are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein.
(b)
It shall be unlawful for any person to violate the provisions of the electrical code adopted by this section.
