(a) 
Prohibited streets.
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate a semi-truck or other truck weighing more than 28,000 pounds on the following streets, unless such truck has as its destination a point within the city or is leaving from a point within the city:

(b) 
Penalty.
Any person found to be in violation of this section shall be guilty of a class C misdemeanor and shall be fined in accordance with the general penalty provided in section 1.01.009 of this code.
(c) 
Signs.
Signs shall be posted upon such streets indicating that through traffic with a weight of more than 28,000 pounds is prohibited.
(d) 
Applicability.
For purposes of this section, through truck traffic is defined as truck traffic originating and ending outside the city limits with no intermediate business stops within the city.

(a) 
Definition.
For purposes of this section, the term “jake brake” shall mean a braking system operated through the release of energy through a vehicle’s exhaust system.
(b) 
Use prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use a jake brake within the city limits.
(c) 
Exceptions.
There is excepted from this section any use of a jake brake resulting from a bona fide emergency threatening life, health or property.
