In the M second manufacturing district, no building or land shall be used and no building shall be hereafter erected or structurally altered which is arranged or designed to be used for other than one or more of the following uses:

Any uses permitted in any of the foregoing districts.
(2) 
Abattoir.
(3) 
Acid manufacture.
(4) 
Aluminum manufacture.
(5) 
Ammonia manufacture.
(6) 
Arsenals.
(7) 
Asphalt manufacture or refining.
(8) 
Auto wrecking yard.
(9) 
Bleaching powder or chlorine manufacture.
(10) 
Butane and propane manufacture and storage.
(11) 
Cement, lime, gypsum or plaster of Paris manufacture.
(12) 
Chemical plants emitting toxic fumes.
(13) 
Creosote treatment or manufacture.
(14) 
Curing, tanning or storage of hides.
(15) 
Distillation of bones, coal or wood.
(16) 
Explosives or fireworks manufacture or storage.
(17) 
Fat rendering.
(18) 
Fertilizer manufacture.
(19) 
Glue or gelatin manufacture.
(20) 
Gunpowder manufacture or storage.
(21) 
Lamp black manufacture.
(22) 
Liquefied petroleum gas sales and service.
(23) 
Match manufacture.
(24) 
Petroleum refining.
(25) 
Power forge.
(26) 
Slaughter of animals.
(27) 
Soap manufacture.
(28) 
Smelter.
(29) 
Stockyards.
(30) 
Storage of hides or skins.
(31) 
Tanning and curing of raw hides or skins.

Any purpose whatsoever not in conflict with any ordinance of the city regulating nuisances. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as repealing any existing ordinance of the city regulating nuisances or permitting uses which are now prohibited by ordinance.

In the M second manufacturing district, no front yard is required unless the building is erected or structurally altered for dwelling purposes, in which event a front yard of not less than 15 feet is required.

In the M second manufacturing district, there shall be a rear yard along the rear line of the lot. The minimum depth of such rear yard shall be 20 feet for dwellings and ten feet for other buildings. Half the width of an alley may be included as a rear yard. On a fractional lot backing up against the side of another lot, the depth of the rear yard may be reduced to 15 feet for dwellings.

In the M second manufacturing district, no side yard is required for buildings other than dwellings and apartments, which shall have side yards of not less than five feet, except where a lot abuts upon a side of lot zoned for dwelling purposes, in which case a five-foot side yard is required. If a side yard is provided for a business or industrial building, the side yard shall not be less than three feet wide.

The minimum width of a lot used for dwellings in the M second manufacturing district shall be 25 feet.

The minimum area of a lot used for dwellings in the M second manufacturing district shall be 3,500 square feet for a one-family dwelling or 4,500 square feet for a two-family dwelling; and for apartment houses or buildings designed for more than two families, the minimum area shall be 4,500 square feet plus 500 square feet for each family in excess of two.

For dwellings and apartments in the M second manufacturing district, no buildings shall cover more than 40 percent of the lot area.

The height of one-family dwellings and two-family dwellings in the M second manufacturing district shall not exceed 45 feet or three stories. The height of apartments shall not exceed 100 feet or eight stories. The height of buildings other than dwellings and apartments shall not exceed 150 feet, except that any such buildings or portion thereof may be erected higher than the 150-foot limit provided such portion is set back from each building line one foot for each four feet of its height above such limit.
