All future traffic and all future parking regulations or any other future regulations dealing with the subject matter contained herein, when such is of a permanent nature and in addition to the Vehicle Code as is now or may be amended, shall be enacted as an ordinance or as an amendment to this chapter of the Township.
A.
In special or emergency situations, provisions hereof may be temporarily suspended by the Chief of Police or the acting head of the Police Department and he/she may prescribe temporarily such other rules and regulations as traffic conditions may require; provided, however, that no such action shall be for a period of greater than 12 hours unless confirmed within that time by the Board of Supervisors.
B.
Any two members of the Board of Supervisors shall have the power to regulate traffic and parking temporarily in times of emergencies in the case of flood, fire, storm or other emergency.
C.
The Board of Supervisors for the Township shall have power to regulate traffic and parking temporarily in case of emergency, to facilitate public works or in the case of the conduct of processions, parades or public events for periods of not more than 72 hours.
A.
In the event of any provision, section, sentence, clause, or part of this chapter shall be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not effect or impair any remaining provision, section, sentence, clause or part of this chapter, it being the intent of this Township that such remainder shall be and shall remain in full force and effect and for this purpose the provisions of this chapter are hereby declared to be severable.
B.
In the event any legislation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall be or become effective dealing with the same or similar subject matter as that included herein, such shall remain in full force and effect if it is more restrictive, and not inconsistent with, such legislation, but if such legislation is more restrictive than, inconsistent with, or both, then this chapter shall be interpreted according to such legislation and shall be superseded to the extent necessary to give such legislation appropriate effect. However, all the remains of this chapter shall be and shall remain in full force and effect for this purpose severable as provided above in § 202-29A hereof.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances expressly inconsistent herewith or dealing with the same or similar subject matter of this chapter are expressly repealed. Expressly repealed is Ordinance No. 87-1, which was enacted on November 24, 1987, and became effective December 31, 1987.
This chapter shall become effective 10 days after enactment and it shall be fully effective and applicable on and after the 9th day of October, 1993.
