The position specifically designated as Chief Financial Officer is necessary in Elsinboro Township to conform to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 so that general statutory duties relating to finance may be carried out in a manner which shall best serve in the interests of the Township.

Such position of Chief Financial Officer is hereby created.
The salary for the said Chief Financial Officer shall be determined by and shall be paid in accordance with the appropriate provisions of the Elsinboro Township Salary Ordinance.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith, to the extent of such inconsistencies, be and the same are hereby repealed.
This article shall take effect and become operative as of January 1, 1989, upon its final passage and publication as required by law; and the provisions of this article shall remain in full force and effect until amended, supplemented or repealed.
