(a) 
The person to whom the permit is issued shall immediately notify the chief of the fire department and any and all companies maintaining any electric and/or telephone wires across or along any street included in the designated route along which such building or other structure is to be moved of the issuance of such permit and shall state when same is to be moved and the probable length of time necessary for such removal, and, in addition, shall notify the city water department of the issuance of such permit and the time it is proposed to move such building or other structure in ample time to allow the disconnection of such utility service lines to such building or other structure.
(b) 
Said person, after receiving his permit to move the house, building or structure and after having obtained written clearance from the utility companies and any other person owning or having overhead wires and cables across any street, alley or public way in the city along the route which said house, building or structure will pass, shall give 24 hours’ notice to said companies, not including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, for said persons to cut any wires necessary to be cut, for the lifting of wires necessary, for removing/raising cables and for the removal of poles or structures along said route. After such notification has been received, it shall be the duty of such person to furnish agents or employees whose duties shall be to cut and repair such wires of the particular person by whom they are employed with which the house or structure is being moved may come into contact. Said agents and employees shall cut, raise or remove any of the obstructions in order to permit said house, building or structure to be moved along the street, alleys or other public property of the city. No person shall furnish any agents or employees in excess of those actually required to do the particular job necessary or charge any unreasonable rates for such services rendered.

(a) 
State highways.
(1) 
No structure exceeding 25 feet in width shall be moved along any state highway passing within the city; except structures in excess of 25 feet may be granted permits after such measures have been taken to provide for the public safety as deemed necessary by the city secretary, and provided prior written approval has been obtained from the state department of transportation.
(2) 
No structure shall be moved along any state highway passing within the city between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
(b) 
Thoroughfares other than state highways.
(1) 
No structure shall be moved along any thoroughfare passing within the city between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
(2) 
No structure shall be moved at any time on Saturdays or Sundays.
(3) 
On thoroughfares 44 feet in width, no structure in excess of 25 feet in width shall be moved except during the hours of 12:00 midnight to 5:30 a.m.
(4) 
On thoroughfares less than 44 feet in width, no structure in excess of 20 feet in width shall be moved except during the hours of 12:00 midnight to 5:30 a.m.
(c) 
Other streets.
No structure shall be moved along any street within the city where the width of said structure exceeds the curb-to-curb width of said street.

(a) 
No building, structure or part thereof shall be moved along any street, alley or highway within the city if the extreme height of such building, structure or part thereof shall, when mounted, exceed the height of 25 feet from the surface of the street, alley or highway along which the structure is to be moved.
(b) 
The city secretary shall have the sole discretion to waive restrictions as to the height and width of the building or other structure being removed if and when there are no trees or structures along or overhanging the route along which such building or other structure is to be moved.

No person, while engaged in the moving of a house, building or structure within the city, shall enter or cross an intersection containing an overhead traffic signal unless it is done in the presence of an employee or a designated representative of the city. A charge in the amount established in appendix A to this code will be made by the city for each vehicle with one man for the time spent for the benefit of the mover. An additional charge in the amount established in appendix A to this code will be made for each additional man needed.

All house movers and persons engaged in the moving of a house or other structure shall proceed in a careful manner in accordance with the terms of the permit granted therefor and at and within the time set in such permit and shall not in any manner injure or destroy trees, grass plots, curbing and/or sidewalks or in any manner interfere with the property of individual, and no person, while engaged in the moving of a house or other structure, shall damage, injure or destroy any public or private property, including trees, shrubs and grass plots, without the consent of the owner thereof.

Whenever, in the moving of a house, building or structure, it shall become necessary that said house, building or structure remain overnight en route, it shall be the duty of said person moving same to set proper barricades and warning lights at each street intersection nearest both sides of said house and keep same properly lighted throughout the night together with warning lights on all sides of said house, building or structure; provided further that any house, building or structure shall at no time be left overnight on any state or federal highway. Location of the site of any such stop shall have the approval of the city before such a stop is made.
