Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or to protect the safety of any person or vehicle, or in compliance with law or the direction of a police officer or official traffic control device, the following prohibitions shall be in effect:
A.
Stopping, standing or parking of a vehicle is expressly prohibited under the following circumstances:
(1)
On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of the street.
(2)
On any sidewalk.
(3)
Within any intersection.
(4)
On any crosswalk.
(5)
Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb within 30 feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone.
(6)
Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction which obstructs traffic.
(7)
Upon any bridge or other elevated structure.
(8)
On any railroad tracks.
(9)
On public or private property which is expressly reserved for handicapped persons or disabled veterans when said property has been posted in accordance with the regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
(10)
At any place where official signs prohibit same.
(11)
No person shall park in the Friendship Park parking lot, located at the corner of North Street and Chestnut Street, unless they are utilizing the Friendship Park facilities and recreation areas. It is expressly prohibited to use the parking lot at Friendship Park to park or store motor vehicles for the purpose of patronizing or visiting properties, events or functions not associated with Friendship Park because it deprives parkgoers of the use of the parking lot. Violators may be towed pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 467, Vehicles, Towing and Impounding of. Exceptions to this prohibition to permit parking in the Friendship Park parking lot may be granted by the Township Administrator or Chief of Police to accommodate special events upon written request provided sufficient parking for the park is assured and coordinated with the Township.
B.
Standing and parking of vehicles is expressly prohibited under the following circumstances:
(1)
In front of a public or private driveway.
(2)
Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
(3)
Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
(4)
Within 30 feet of any flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign or traffic control signal located at the side of a roadway.
(5)
Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station or, when properly posted, on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of the entrance.
(6)
Any place where official signs prohibit same.
