(a)
From and after the effective date of this article, the records of the proceedings of the city council shall consist of minute books, lettered consecutively beginning with the letter “A” and an ordinance book, in all of which the pages shall be numbered consecutively, which minute books and ordinance book, taken together, shall constitute the minutes and records of all proceedings of the city council of the City of Pineland.
(b)
The ordinance book, herein provided for, shall contain the original copy of each city ordinance as follows:
(1)
All ordinances of the City of Pineland now in effect are hereby ordered by the city council to be published by insertion of a copy thereof in such ordinance book. Each such ordinance shall be examined by the council to determine whether same is a full, true and correct copy of the original and each such ordinance shall bear a certificate to that effect signed by the mayor and city secretary.

All ordinances passed and approved after the effective date of this article are hereby ordered enrolled in the ordinance book by the city council. Each such ordinance shall be attested by the city secretary and shall bear the approval of the mayor, or the certificate of the secretary that the mayor neglected to approve or object to same for a period longer than three (3) days, or the certificate of at least three (3) council members that same was passed over the objections of the mayor.
(3)
A chronological or numerical list of all ordinances shall be prepared and placed in the front of the ordinance book and maintained up to date as new ordinances are adopted. All ordinances shall be consecutively numbered.
(c)
The minute book shall contain all minutes and records of the proceedings of the city council of the City of Pineland, including a copy of all resolutions adopted by the city council. Action of the city council on ordinances ordered enrolled in the ordinance book shall be shown in the minute book by the caption of such ordinance only.
(d)
It shall be the duty of the city secretary to keep accurate minutes and records of the proceedings of the city council, to engross and enroll all ordinances and to keep the list of ordinances in a current condition in the ordinance book established by this article.
(e)
The city council having authorizing the codification of all city ordinances of a general and permanent nature, in accordance with Article 1176a, V.T.C.S., it shall here after be the duty of the city secretary to see that such code of ordinances is maintained by publishing supplements to update the code as needed.
