Whenever the city sanitary sewer collection system/line is extended to within one hundred feet (100') of any lot or parcel of land within the corporate limits of the city where a septic tank, dry closet, or privy vault exists, the owner or occupant of each premises shall abate such septic tank, dry closet, or privy vault and shall construct a suitable water closet upon such premises and connect the same with the city sanitary sewer collection system/line within ninety (90) days after receipt of a written notice to do so from the city secretary.

All persons, firms, corporations or other legal entities located within or operating within the city limits are hereby required to use only the sanitary sewer service operated by the city and to comply with all provisions regarding such use as established by the city and the laws of the state. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or other legal entity to construct or cause to be constructed and/or to use any septic tank or other sanitary sewer system within the city limits.
