(1)
One animal may be kept upon a lot, as that term is defined in section 2.01.001, of at least 12,000 square feet, provided such animal is enclosed in a pen or corral containing at least 800 square feet, including a stable under a roof of at least 100 square feet, and further provided that the pen, corral, fence, or similar enclosure is not closer than 20 feet to the adjacent property lines.
(2)
Two animals may be kept on a lot of at least one-half acre (21,780 square feet), provided they are enclosed in a pen or corral containing at least 800 square feet per animal, including a stable under a roof of at least 100 square feet per animal, and further provided that the pen, corral, fence, or similar enclosure is not closer than 20 feet to the adjacent property lines.
(3)

(4)
Four or more animals may be kept on a lot of at least one-half acre (21,780 square feet) per animal, provided they are enclosed in a pen or corral containing at least 800 square feet per animal, including a stable under a roof of at least 100 square feet per animal, and further provided that the pen, corral, fence, or similar enclosure is not closer than 20 feet to the adjacent property lines.
(5)
The width of an alley, street right-of-way, or other public right-of-way may be included in establishing the 20-foot restraining distance to the property lines adjacent to the property where animals are kept.
(6)
Where property is unoccupied adjacent to that upon which animals are kept, and if it contains no growing crops, flowers, shrubs, garden, or other growth adjacent to the property lines, as to such property, the 20-foot restraining distance may be disregarded. However, if the owner of such adjacent property should occupy it or cause it to be occupied, such restraining distance shall become effective immediately.
(7)
Manure shall be removed daily and deposited in a flyproof container. Such container shall be removed from the premises at least once each week.
(b)
The conditions set forth in subsection (a) of this section for the keeping of animals within the city limits are minimal, and in no event shall such animals be kept so as to cause the breeding of flies or the emission of odors obnoxious to persons of ordinary sensibilities.
(1996 Code, sec. 6-10(b), (c))
The provisions of sections 2.05.001 and 2.05.002 shall prohibit neither the temporary keeping of animals for slaughter by slaughterhouses, for treatment by veterinary hospitals, or for exhibition at fairs, shows, and circuses, nor the temporary keeping of the animals mentioned in sections
