It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or drive any vehicle at a speed greater than twenty (20) miles per hour during certain times, through the following areas which shall be marked and designated as school zones, and shall indicate upon the signs the hours in which the twenty (20) mile speed limit shall be effective:
(1) 
On Euclid Street from 8th Street to 12th Street and on 9th Street from Park Avenue to State Highway 207 and on Prather Avenue from Euclid Street to Highway 207.
(2) 
On Main Street from Panther Avenue to State F.M. 293; and on Elsie Street from Ninth Street to Panther Avenue.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article, upon conviction or on a plea of guilty, shall be fined in accordance with the general penalty provision in Section 1.109 of this code.
