It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle within twenty (20) feet of any corner created by intersecting streets or roads within the city. It shall be unlawful for any person to park in any area designated as a “No Parking Zone” by posted signs or by curbs painted yellow. It shall be unlawful for any person to park in any manner not in accordance with parking spaces as designated by painted lanes or otherwise.

All parking designations including “No Parking’’ and manner of parking shall be made by resolution of the board of aldermen. After the adoption of any such resolution, a directive shall be issued by the board of aldermen providing for proper placement of signs or paint designations to clearly indicate the nature of the parking restriction.

Ordinances and resolutions designating streets, parts of streets or other areas as no-parking or restricted parking areas are on file in the city secretary’s office. Such ordinances and resolutions are specifically saved from repeal upon adoption of the Code of Ordinances.

Any person convicted of violating this section shall, upon conviction, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine in accordance with the general penalty provided in section 1.01.009 of this code for each offense.
